A Heartwarming Collaboration with client and NGOs
MMIF Reporting Event – 12 July 2023 @ Preskil Hotel
In the aftermath of the devastating wreckage of the Wakashio in the south of the country, Maluti stepped forward as the PR agency for MOL, a charitable trust locally established to support NGOs in the affected area. Three years later, we had the privilege of participating in a half-day presentation workshop, where the incredible work carried out by numerous international and national NGOs, along with that of dedicated researchers in marine biology and conservation, was highlighted.
Being a part of this journey has been an absolute honor. Interacting with these esteemed scientists and tireless social workers has been a valuable learning experience for our team. Our role has been to help them effectively communicate their work to key audiences, ensuring their important efforts receive the continued support and recognition they deserve.
The wreckage of the Wakashio was a dramatic event for the country. However, in the face of adversity, we have witnessed the indomitable human spirit at work. Instead of succumbing to despair, the affected individuals and organizations have chosen to make lemonade when thrown lemons. Throughout this journey, we have witnessed the resiliency and determination of those involved. The dedication of the NGOs, social workers, researchers, and conservationists in empowering affected communities and restoring and protecting the marine environment has been truly inspiring. Their work has not only helped heal the scars left by the devastating incident but has also become a shining example of what can be achieved through collaboration and collective effort.
As we reflect on our role in supporting MOL and the incredible individuals we have met, we are reminded of the power of unity and the capacity of the human spirit to overcome even the darkest of times. This heartwarming and positive journey serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment to making a difference in our world.
